Self-harming easter cactus

mmm, it self-harms - it is dropping osme of its branches! why does this happen?  I don't think it's from too much water, or not even too much.  this has never happened to my christmas cacti, what a mystery.

Orchids at M&S

M&S were doing  another special, £12 single stem orchids reduced to a fiver.  I went mad yet again and bought 5 more.  I only noticed a year ago that M&S were selling orchids at such a cheap price.  I'd never had an orchid before, as I was scared that they were too expensive and difficult to keep.  I ended up buying three, and the flowers lasted for 3 - 5 months, which was lovely.  One of these is now slowly growing flowers from a further node, so am very excited.  The other two are resting.

I actually found out about this market randomly, from a friend.  It is open on Sundays to the public, out near Shoreditch.  They sell everything, from houseplants, cacti, potplants, to bedding plants.  I think they are also open in winter, but not as many plants are for sale.
